A Yoga Vacation with Ashtanga Yoga Mysore

Vacation is such a relaxing word! Combine it with the enriching experience of yoga and you have a complete spiritual retreat. It’s a great opportunity that you get to pamper your inner-self completely. It gives a break to routine halts that one tends to waste in parties and music. The idea is to experience a surreal calm.

That said, it’s normal to experience stress and fatigue very often with the kind of lifestyle that we follow today. A yoga retreat is planned with the foremost objective of detoxifying your body of stress and exertion.

The dates for Yoga Vacation are from 02-28 of every month. You would be following the same schedule as the ongoing Teacher's Training course. Theory sessions are optional in case you would like to do something else during that time. Two field trips are a part of this course. The structure (timings) of the Daily Schedule below may vary but the content remains the same. This course is also suitable for beginners in Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga who would like experience this challenging style of yoga. Please email us for more details.

Accommodation for Vacation

There is little to worry about means of accommodation when you are on a yoga vacation at the Ashtanga Yoga Mysore Institute. Accommodation provided by us is on a single room occupancy (Twin Sharing) basis, We also have limited number of Single Rooms charged additional. All rooms are furnished and designed in the same manner with an attached bathroom shared with another room. There is a communal kitchen with all necessary equipments provided. There is also a paid Laundry option available. Free Wi-Fi access near the office and dining area.



ABOUT MYSORE

Mysore can be visited throughout the year but the best time to visit is from September to March. Winters (October to February) has cool atmosphere with minimum temperature touching up to 10°C, and are very pleasant.
One of the most popular festivals in India is Mysore Dusshera celebrated during October-November. This festival lasts for 10 days with first nine days for Navaratri celebrations and tenth day for big attractive processions. The processions are very attractive with decorated majestic elephants, decorated horses, soldiers, folk dancers, nobles, and courtiers.


The four seasons in Mysore are:

    1. Cold weather – Jan – Feb : avg temp = 16°C
    2. Hot Weather – Mar – May : temp range = 19°C - 35°C
    3. South west monsoon – Jun – Sept : rainy in June but moderate rains till September
    4. North east monsoon – Oct – Dec: Occasional rains but generally dry.
